I’m taking a break from my break to point out the results of one of The Globe and Mail’s on-line polls. The question: Do you vote in on-line polls?
The results: 81% yes, 19% no. 598 people who responded to this on-line poll don’t respond to on-line polls.

Matthew J. Keller: “I’ll invent the Carp Movement. Or Cod. Cod? Nah. Carp. Naturally, it will come with its own peculiar vocabulary. I’ll have Daddycarps, and Leathercarps, and email addresses like topfingerling4U@carp.com.”

Last night, I was watching the news before the election coverage. As usual, there was discussion about the expected turnout, and this led into a segment with a reporter asking people on Queen Street whether they had voted and if not, why not.
The reporter asked one goth girl, complete with black hair, black clothes, and bad mascara, why she didn’t vote. Her reason: non-conformity. The reporter told her that most people don’t vote, so by not voting she’s actually conforming. She looked stunned, told him that she was actually very camera shy, and tried to get away from him as quickly as she could.
Make sure to check out the Toronto Sun, newspaper of the toothless and inbred, if you want to get some good laughs. They’re obviously incredibly bitter about their buddy John Tory having lost, which results in predictable lines like Christina Blizzard’s “most people know violent crime is on the increase in Toronto, and if the mayor is going to ignore it we might just as well hand over the city to the gangs right now” and John Downing’s bizzare speculation about “what would have happened if the other guy had been called John Grit” instead of John Tory.
The Most Hysterical Headline Award goes to columnist Bob Macdonald: “It’s going to cost you: Prepare for higher taxes, crime.” I can imagine future headlines: “Miller robs bank, kills babies”
